If you are required to submit to DOT drug testing, this information needs to be submitted annually on a MIS data collection form. If you have never heard of that term, you may be wondering what that is. Here are a few of the questions you may have about the Department of Transportation, or DOT, MIS forms and Austin drug testing.
A MIS form is the form that your alcohol and drug testing results are reported on. The form is then sent to the Department of Transportation for annual review to ensure you can maintain any licenses you have with them. If you submit a drug test on any other form, it will be kicked back and you can be penalized if you miss your annual deadline to turn in results. The DOT wants all drug testing results to be submitted on this form for uniformity.
The DOT oversees all individuals who operate a form of transportation within the public. This may include train drivers, bus drivers and truck drivers. Ensuring that the drivers are drug-free helps to decrease the likelihood of the driver being impaired and causing an accident. As such, annual drug testing helps to oversee that drivers are clean. The form is used for uniformity, to ensure all operators are given the same tests and held to the same standards?
Not every drug testing facility will fill out MIS forms. You need to find one that expressly states that they offer DOT compliance drug testing and will fill out MIS forms.
Are you in need of an Austin drug test? If so, North Lamar Chiropractic can help you. We offer drug testing and can fill out your MIS forms for you so you can have them submitted to the Department of Transportation in a timely manner. Contact us at (512) 835-1955 to schedule an appointment today.
